Enter Sandman- Metallica

There are few songs in the history of metal that is as instantly recognizable as "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. The opening riff is one of the most iconic in all of the music, and the song itself is a perfect example of everything that makes Metallica great. It's heavy, it's catchy, it's got a great solo from Kirk Hammett, and it's just an all-around classic.

The Trooper- Iron Maiden

Few things are as exhilarating as belting out "The Trooper" at the top of your lungs. Iron Maiden's anthemic ode to a cavalryman killed in battle is the perfect example of how metal can be fun and thought-provoking. The song features some of Bruce Dickinson's best vocal work, and the guitar solo is nothing short of shredding perfection.

Breaking the Law- Judas Priest

There are few bands as synonymous with heavy metal as Judas Priest, and "Breaking the Law" is the perfect example of why. The song is an ode to rebellion, with lyrics encouraging the listener to break free from the chains of society.

The catchy riff and sing-along chorus make it impossible to resist headbanging along, and the entire song is an adrenaline rush from start to finish. If you're looking for a metal song that will get your blood pumping, look no further than "Breaking the Law".

Led Zeppelin – Immigrant Song

If you are looking to from the heavy metal genre, you cannot live without Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song". The song is about a group of Vikings who sail to America and encounter Native Americans. The song is full of energy and excitement, and the guitar work is simply incredible. If you're a fan of heavy metal, Led Zeppelin, or just great music in general, "Immigrant Song" is a must-listen.

Deep Purple – Highway Star

As one of the pioneers of heavy metal, Deep Purple's "Highway Star" is a true classic. The song is an uptempo rocker with a driving guitar riff and powerful vocals from Ian Gillan. The lyrics are about a young man who is living life to the fullest and enjoying every minute of it. This is a perfect song for anyone who loves to rock out and have a good time.

Megadeth- Peace Sells

Dave Mustaine and his band have a lot of songs that could be on this list ("Holy Wars... The Punishment Due" from Rust in Peace or "Symphony of Destruction" come to mind), but this Megadeth song is not only heavy, but also pretty funny.

Guns n Roses- Welcome to the Jungle

Those first few seconds and that scream still give you chills. They are some of the most well-known sounds to ever start an album. What comes after this from Guns N' Roses is a lesson in how to do heavy metal right.

Dio- Holy Diver

The first minute or so of "Holy Diver" sounds almost like black metal, but once Dio and the rest of the band come out of the water, things pick up quickly. It's one of the best heavy metal songs on an album that has a lot of great ones.
